I love love love my job, not only do I get to photograph beautiful families, but make new friends, visit the prettiest places, hike up trails, and document life changing events! Our little day started out on a lazy Saturday afternoon, I met Maia & her husband Vlad and their cutest little independent boy, Elliot. We carpooled to a location but didn’t see any lupine as we hoped for and were bummed, but then I remembered of a spot a good friend of mine told me about which was down the road with the prettiest backdrop scenery. Although I was worried of the half mile walk because our beautiful Maia was already in her 3rd trimester! But, these three were such troopers! They packed their stuff, and we went on for a long hike. Crossing creeks and jumping rocks… I was worried the weight of my gear would make me tumble on the slippery rocks, but seeing how strong Maia was I was amazed! She is such a beautiful person inside and out, and her husband is a great supporter. When we finally reached what looked like a mirage of purple… we were so happy that our hike was worth it! Elliot and I played a little peek-a-boo in the field, because I like children, …. A LOT! My way of getting their attention, even if it’s only for 15 minutes. The sunset was so beautiful that evening, that we stayed up way overtime… so late, that we had to use our iphones to get some light walking back through the deep and dark forest. I now look back to this day and say to myself, what was I thinking, bringing a family out so far and so late, but then I look at the photographs and think,… To have what others don’t have, you must do what others don’t do! One famous quote I live by is “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” – Les Brown. I’m so thankful for such amazing new friends I’ve made that day and I hope you all enjoy this little session~
