Honored to share a beautiful love story from the bride herself, Clarissa on how she met the love of her life, Izak . Kick back relax and enjoy this incredible journey of love!
“Izak and I had been dating for almost 2 years when we decided to take a vacation to his home country of South Africa in 2014. I knew it was going to be a special trip since it would be the first time I got to meet his friends, extended family, and to see the place where the love of my life grew up. Little did I know, he had even bigger plans up his sleeve.
Months before our trip Izak sought out a family friend and jewelry designer in South Africa to create my engagement ring. As we were touring Johannesburg we met her for lunch and she secretly passed the ring off to Izak. When the day came for him to pop the question he had enlisted a lovely older couple who ran the bed and breakfast we were staying at to prepare a picnic basket with all the accompaniments.
That afternoon, picnic basket in hand, we were off to what I thought was a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Once we got there Izak seemed more stressed than normal. He wanted to take a picture in a perfect spot, I should have been tipped off at this point since pictures aren’t usually his thing, but I followed him to multiple spots before he found the one.
He set up a camera to take a picture and as I was getting ready for the photo there he was on one knee asking me to be his wife.”
